Weekly Highlights for April 24, 2017
The Library Book Sale is coming soon! Friday, May 5th, 1-6 pm and Saturday May 6th, 10-1 pm. We will be taking donations for the sale starting this week. Please do not drop items in the back book drop for the sale. Donations need to be brought into the library. Mark the date and plan on getting some great books, DVDs and lots more for your personal library at home.
Food for Fines: During the month of April bring in any non –perishable food item to receive $1 off of your fines. One item = $1 off. It’s a win-win, you can pay down any fines you might have and food shelves will be stocked for the upcoming summer months. If you don’t have any fines and still want to participate, we would love to have you donate your food items.
Story Time: Story times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-11:15AM. April 24th and 26th will be Spring, May 1st and 3rd will be Doreen Cronin, May 8th and 10 will be Colors and Shapes, May 15th and 16th will be Summer. Brittany will be taking a few weeks off of story time to get things ready for Summer Reading.
S.T.E.M.: Thursday, May 11, 4:30-5:30 pm. The theme this month is Get Electrified! This students in grades 4—7th. Please call the library to register.
Needle Felting: Thursday, May 11, 6:30 pm. Participants will create a pin or patch. All supplies will be provided. This class is for ages eight and up. Please register by calling the library-classes do fill up quickly so don’t wait to sign up.
Teen/Tween Book Club: Thursday, May 18th, 6-7:30 pm. This night will combine both book clubs for some fun activities of games and crafts. Pizza will be served!
Lego Club: Saturday, May 20th, 10:30-11:30 am.
Red Cross Blood Drive: Monday, May 22, 11-5 pm.
Senior Coffee and Cookies/Ice Cream: Every Friday at 10AM, except Friday April 14th. Stop by for some conversation, games, or just a free cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea.
Strong Senior Chair Exercise: This program is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-2PM. Come on in and join the movement group! This program will follow a DVD designed to help develop strength and enhance ability to function in daily live, improving stability, balance, and mobility. Feel free to bring small hand weights for a tougher workout.
The parking lot fundraiser is ongoing and the Library Board is currently working toward raising $205,000 to pay off the extended lot and prepare the way for pavement. Your gift would help us provide safe parking for those who attend our growing programs.
